Visitor Process

Visitor Policy

If you are not a member of staff or a student in the School of Chemistry, then you are classified as a visitor. Registered visitors are visiting members of staff and visiting students. These individuals must complete a Health and Safety and building induction before being able to use the department’s facilities and have access to our buildings.

Non registered visitors are ad hoc and pre-arranged visitors who generally make single or irregular visits). These individuals must either contact the Chemistry Administration Reception or their host. These visitors should be escorted to their point of contact or their point of contact should go to reception to receive their visitor. Building access is restricted and the visitor must be accompanied on site at all times.

The School of Chemistry has a legal duty of care for the health, safety, security and wellbeing of all staff, students and visitors to our buildings therefore all our visitors are required to adhere to University processes and procedures, particularly in relation to Health and Safety, data protection, appropriate IT usage and dignity at work.
