Visitor Enquiries Opening Hours
Chemistry Visitor Enquiries is open from 08:00 to 13:30, Monday to Friday. We are located in Building 29, Room 2069.
Alternatively you can dial either x24143 or x25802 from the Information Point Telephone. Please email the team sjd1@soton.ac.uk or D.Dunlop@soton.ac.uk outside of these hours and we will respond as quickly as possible.
If you arrive early for an appointment then please use the Chemistry Common Room, Building 29, Room 2067. Coffee, tea and biscuits are available 09:30 to 11:30 and 14:30 to 16:30.
About Us
Our Faculty Operating Service team provides localised administrative support to the School of Chemistry, working in partnership with other Professional Services.
Sally Dady x24143 and Dawn Dunlop x25802, Building 29, Room 2069 provide the first line of support for student, staff and visitor enquiries within the School of Chemistry.
For Head of School visitor enquiries, contact Bev Macey x23597. Visitor access is restricted in building 30, so please ring on your arrival and someone will escort you from the Information Point.
Building Opening Hours
The main entrances to all Chemistry buildings are open from 08:00 to 18:00, Monday to Friday. Swipe card access is required outside of these hours.
Out of hours working is from 23:00 to 08:00 and University closure periods (bank holidays, Easter and Christmas).
Outside normal working hours, practical laboratory work is permitted only if the operations have been specifically risk assessed, are familiar, not especially hazardous and there is at least one other research worker within line of sight.
