Contractor Information

General Information for Contractors

All Contractors undertaking work in the School of Chemistry should have an authorised Permit to Work. This procedure provides a formal control system aimed at prevention of accidents and damage to property where foreseeable hazardous work is carried out.

Contractors who require a permit should contact the relevant Estates and Facilities Project Manager and/or the Chemistry Facilities Manager, Gary Pook (building 29, room 2073).

Contractors will not have building access unless notified and approved by the Facilities Manager/Safety Officer and the relevant Permit to Work/Health & Safety training provided.

Contractors should report to Chemistry Visitor Enquiries (building 29, room 2069) or the Facilities Manager, Gary Pook (building 29, room 2073) before commencing work and provide an update on the work undertaken upon completion of the work.

Contractor Parking

Chemistry has limited parking space for contractors and engineers working on site. Enquiries should be made in advance with the Facilities manager.
